Shakespeare was an actor, writer, and poet from England. His nickname is the Bard of Avon. He was born on twenty-six April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon. Although William Shakespeare is most well-known for his plays, he originally achieved fame as a poet. About 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and a few other verses, the authorship of which is unknown, were all written by him.

Shakespeare’s most well-known works were created between 1589 and 1613. The majority of his early plays were comedies and histories. He retired to Stratford around 1613, when he was 49 years old, and passed away there three years later. He died on 23 April 1616.
